Hydrogen must be manufactured, extracted from fossil fuel, or, via fossil fuel or electric power, from water by electrolysis. This takes at least four (4) times the energy that charging a battery EV would take.
| When fuel cell advocates are asked where the electric will come from, they invariably answer that it would use electric which came from renewable sources, such as solar, wind or hydro. But when the much more efficient Battery EV are proposed, fuel cell advocates declare that it's just a "longer tailpipe" to coal-burning power plants. How can electric be all clean when more used to make Hydrogen, but dirty when used to charge up an EV? |
