Full-function 80 mph plug-capable Electric Vehicles can be charged each night with at least 80,000 mwh
(80,000,000 kwh) of electric capacity unused because demand falls and generators must be ramped down. This power
carries the EVs 320,000,000 miles (at 4 miles per kwh) replacing
16,000,000 gallons of gasoline (20 mpg fleet avg.).
This eliminates about a third of our daily gasoline consumption of 40,000,000 gallons, enough to do without overseas oil imports. This also helps amortize generators over more hours of operation, and enables people to choose to live essentially without gasoline. |
